WOMEN
- Duʿā books and a pencil to mark how many rounds you completed for ṭawāf
- Unscented deodorant, soap, bring extra
- Water bottle for zamzam to fill up at mosque so always drinking zamzam while there
- Hat to shade face from the sun
- 2 to 3 Abayas but extra light clothing for underneath (you’ll change often because of the sweating)
- A clean outfit to wear specifically when visiting the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace)
- Cheap slippers that you don’t mind losing—this is what you should take to the mosques
- Shoulder bag to wear and keep you stuff in
- Medicine to block menstrual blood in case it comes
- Tampons to block istihada (for non-virgins only)
- Cell phone with SIM chip capability so that people who are with you (family, etc) can contact you or get a roaming plan from your current company
- Prayer mat in case you have to pray directly on the marble floor
MEN

- Comfortable shoes to wear once out of iḥrām
- Several pairs of light, clean clothes (you’ll change often because of the sweating)
