The Mu’alla Graveyard (Hajun) is actually two graveyards that are located on a mountain outside of Makkah. They are separated by a street running between them. This street was actually the same path that the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) took when traveling to Makkah the year of the Fath. It is a ten minute taxi drive from Makkah.

There are several Companions (Allah be pleased with them) buried there, as well as the Prophet’s relatives. Of the most honorable of them is Umm al Mu’mineen, Sayyidatuna Khadija (Allah be pleased with her), the first wife of the Prophet ﷺ and the first believer.

Unfortunately, women are not permitted to enter the graveyard.  Women can stand outside the iron gates and make du’a for the deceased.

This is a picture of her grave. She is buried there with her son Qasim. May Allah have mercy on them.
