Islamic Therapy Counseling: Specialized Therapy for Muslims

Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatuLlahi wa barakatuhu

My name is Naielah. I am a down-to-earth, practical, and non-judgmental therapist and counselor.

Clients often describe their sessions with me as positive, comforting, and transformative.

I take a holistic approach by integrating Islamic spirituality into my work, catering to the mind–body–soul connection.

I listen with both compassion and insight, while also helping you uncover meaningful solutions to your challenges.

My goal is to support you through your life and relationship journey with care and guidance.

My work involves cultivating peace of mind and creating a balanced, purposeful life.

I have over 10 years of counseling experience, specializing in relationships. I help individuals work through resentment toward parents, family members, ex-spouses, and friends.

I use my training in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to support clients with anxiety, low mood, perfectionism, and self-esteem issues.

My wide range of experience allows me to offer the best therapy experience for you.

I am also an Islamic studies teacher. Raised in America, I studied abroad in Syria and Jordan for over 20 years. I love helping my clients become closer to Allah Most High and practicing the sunna of the beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Through my online sessions, I have worked with thousands of clients from all over the world (USA, Canada, UK, Europe, Australia, Africa, & the Middle East).

Life can feel heavy at times, but change is always possible. If you’re looking for support, I’d love to meet you and see how we can work together toward the life you truly want.

Therapy & Counseling for Muslims

As a Muslim therapist and counselor, I can help you with...

What I offer my clients...

Learn About Our Islamic Therapy & Counseling

The sessions are a safe space for you to explore your life and thoughts. CBT therapy actively promotes the idea of a client-therapist alliance. We will work together and at your pace to bring changes to your life.

The first session is an assessment session. We assess your situation together and plan how to possibly move forward.

Following the assessment session, you will receive an email with details for how I suggest we proceed. You can accept, reject, or ask for clarification about the plan.

Practice (homework) will be given after each session so that you can take what you learn in the session with you throughout the week.

My sessions are tailor-made to fit your circumstances. However, the success of the therapy is dependent upon your willingness to follow-through with what is discussed and agreed on.

The initial assessment session is 30 minutes. It costs $30 USD / £25 GBP.

Each follow-up session is 50-minutes. It costs $65 USD / £50 GBP per session.

Depending on the issue, you will be asked to commit yourself to 4 to 10 follow-up sessions. This will be explained to you after the initial assessment meeting.

Payment is via PayPal, credit/debit, or UK bank transfer.

All sessions are online via Zoom.

In general, our sessions are from 1 pm to 9 pm UK / 8 am to 4 pm New York from Sunday to Friday.

If you cannot make those timings, you can suggest a different time, but it will be subject to the availability of my schedule.

As much as I would like to help everyone, I do not offer therapy for sexual trauma, emotional or physical abuse, personality disorders (e.g. narcissism, bpd, etc.), self-harm, suicide, substance misuse, or mental disorders (e.g. psychosis, bipolar disorder,  schizophrenia, etc).

No, this is not possible. In order for therapy to work, the client must want to attend the sessions for themselves and do what it takes to change their lives.

It is advisable that you suggest the idea of therapy to them. Show them this webpage and ask them if they are interested in trying out one session.

Make lots of du’a that Allah Most High guides them to do what is best for their life inshaAllah.

As Muslims, our daily lives are often influenced by the noble teachings of Islam. This is why we actively seek a therapist or counselor who shares our faith. We want to learn how to heal but without the worry of compromising our religious conviction and practice in the process.

As a female Muslim Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (CBT) therapist and Islamic counselor, I want to reassure you that my sessions are faith-based, and they will be a means to healing and self-discovery insha’Allah.

Why Choosing a Muslim Therapist Matters: My Aim As A Female Muslim Therapist

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a type of psychotherapy that focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns and behaviors.

The core idea behind CBT is that our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected. By changing one of these things, a person can release themselves from a negative cycle and learn the tools for a more promising lifestyle.

I trained to become a CBT therapist because CBT is known to be the most effective therapy for many mental health issues. AlhamduliLlah my journey began with a post-graduate CBT practitioner program accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS). It is taught by expert clinical psychologists and accredited CBT therapists.

After witnessing the success of CBT firsthand, my goal as a Muslim therapist and Islamic counselor is to make CBT more accessible to Muslims. Through affordable prices and online worldwide access, I pray that more Muslims will benefit.

If you are wondering how CBT differs from other therapies and why it works, keep reading.
